Energy Dependence of the NN t-matrix in the Optical Potential for Elastic Nucleon-Nucleus Scattering

چکیده
The influence of the energy dependence of the free NN t-matrix on the optical potential of nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering is investigated within the context of a full-folding model based on the impulse approximation. The treatment of the pole structure of the NN t-matrix, which has to be taken into account when integrating to negative energies is described in detail. We calculate proton-nucleus elastic scattering observables for 16O, 40Ca, and 208Pb between 65 and 200 MeV laboratory energy and study the effect of the energy dependence of the NN t-matrix. We compare this result with experiment and with calculations where the center-of-mass energy of the NN t-matrix is fixed at half the projectile energy. It is found that around 200 MeV the fixed energy approximation is a very good representation of the full calculation, however deviations occur when going to lower energies (65 MeV). Probing the Nuclear Equation of State in the quasi-elastic nucleus-nucleus scattering
Large-angle elastic scattering of α-particle and strongly-bound light nuclei at a few tens MeV/nucleon has shown the pattern of rainbow scattering. This interesting process was shown to involve a significant overlap of the two colliding nuclei, with the total nuclear density well above the saturation density of normal nuclear matter (NM). For a microscopic calculation of the nucleus-nucleus pot...

The sensitivity of nucleon-nucleus elastic scattering observables to the offshell structure of nucleon-nucleon t-matrices, derived from realistic NN potentials, is investigated within the context of a full-folding model based on the impulse approximation. Our study uses recently developed NN potential models, which describe a subset of the NN data base with a χ2 per datum ∼1, which means that t...

%e investigate the role of the full dynamical dependence of the free off-shell nucleon-nucleon t matrix on the optical potential for proton-nucleus elastic scattering in the 100—400 MeV incident energy range within a full-folding model context. Particular emphasis is placed on the effects of deuteron formation by explicitly taking into account pole singularities in the free nucleon-nucleon t ma...
متن کاملNuclear rainbow scattering and nucleus - nucleus potential
Elastic scattering of α-particle and some tightly-bound light nuclei has shown the pattern of rainbow scattering at medium energies, which is due to the refraction of the incident wave by a strongly attractive nucleus-nucleus potential. This review gives an introduction to the physics of the nuclear rainbow based essentially on the optical model description of the elastic scattering. Since the ...

The full folding optical potential for the elastic scattering of protons from ' 0 and Ca at 200 MeV is calculated. The fully off-shell free nucleon-nucleon t matrix, at a fixed energy, derived from the Paris potential and harmonic oscillator nuclear single-particle wave functions are used for both systems. The calculated observables show that the optimal factorization approximation provides a g...
